Favorite food ingredients

In this page I will be listing my favourite ingredients that help me to keep fit, healthy and especially, connected.

Remember though, what it is good for me might be not for you, therefore experiment and find your own favourite.

Most importantly please eat consciously, connect to the food in your plate and take time to chew and feel the flavours. If cravings occurs do not panic and do not stress about it. Eat whatever your body is asking, enjoy it and then go back into your daily healthy routine.

Ingredients

(Grains)

Through practice I have noticed the effects of grains into the bowel, especially the refined (white) ones. Devitalized grains are no good for your health partly because they have been robbed from essential nutrients therefore becoming indigestible and partly because the gluten irritates the lining of the gut, mainly the villi of the small intestine which helps you to absorb nutrients.

Eating whole grains are definitely better even though wheat still remain the most aggressive. I have found a wonderful substitute called Spelt. It comes from the wheat family even though the gluten is just 1% therefore much gentle.

Other grains that I frequently use are: Quinoa, Buckwheat, and Amaranth. They are all gluten free, rich in minerals and protein.

Another suggestion is to try the real grains rather than the commercial processed pasta. If so a great way to digest them better it is to soack them overnight in water and to use that water for cooking.

(Dairies)

I was brought up with cafe' latte every mornings and always thought was good for me. I had to rethink that and switch to alternatives.Since then I have never looked back.

At home we use Almond, Oat and Soya. Rice is common as well. If craving real milk I reccomend Goats or Sheep. You can find it unpasteurized as well. Usually will be located in the freezers of health shops. Leave the "real thing" for your treats.

The Cheeses we use are mainly unpasteurized from Goats and Sheep. I found them more digestible.

I am not a big fun of yogurt mainly because they will all be pasteurized and therefore just mucus forming. It is ,though, a good breakfast option. When eating dairies try to choose organic and full fat.

(Animal proteins)

Even though I am coming from a meat free philosophy, I have reinserted it into my diet . I feel very good with it and probably even better, therefore I now recommend it. There is a new diet around called "Metabolic typing", it is very specific and precise, they suggest animal protein to all of their groups even though of a different category. As a general rule the hardest to digest would be pork followed by beef, lamb, duck, turkey, chicken and fish. I always make an effort to eat it organic and /or free range. A little protein at lunch will help your blood sugar in the afternoon and in the evening will help the cleansing and ribuilt process of the body.

(Fruit and Vegetables)

Eat plenty of vegetables choose the one in season and the one you prefer. Be more moderate with fruit especially if your bowel it is not regular for whatever reason. I have seen in my practice more people banged up by fruit than actually relieved. The reason is simple, too much sugar and fermentable fibre. yes it is a wonderfull snack but it is a great detoxifier as well therefore asking your system to eliminate toxins from your cells. That is all fine, but what about if the bowel do not open? all that residue sitting there and fermenting while probably reabsorbed in to your system.

Fruit and vegetable should be chosen organic as they are heavily sprayed. Especially the one grown under the soil.

(Nuts and Seeds)

Great source of nutrients including proteins. They make a wonderful snack. Pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds make a complete source of protein. Combined with some Goji berries will make it a well balanced afternoon snack. Nuts and seeds are hard to digest therefore is best to soak them over night. Like fruit and veggies they are best eaten organic as heavily sprayed as well.

The one I enjoy most are Pumpking, Sesame, Sunflower, linseed, Brazil, Almond and cashew.

(Did you know you can make Milk out of nuts? just blend them with some natural water some agave syrup and few drops of lemon. Sieve it and voila')

(Sugars)

The less the sugar the better! and as once a world renown naturopathic doctor suggested even sugar from fruits.(Dr. R. Young, from the book "Sick and tired")

The last thing you want to happen into your system is fermentation and blood sugar picks and crushes. All sugars will do that even honey. Try to use alternatives like Agave syrup and Xylitol by far my favourites. Especially Xylitol have no impact into the blood sugar and would instead of feeding the bad bacteria work as a prebiotic meaning as a food for the good bacteria.

Thirsty?...

Itis well known nowadays that most of the bottled water is a waste of money. You will not believe the the amount of clients that I found dehydrated even though they drink 3 litres of water per day!

the options are expensive. Ionizers are a wonderful option as you can work easily on your Ph level as well. Reverse osmosis is a great variable but not everyone agrees on the benefits.

So, once again mother nature gave us the answer. Linseed tea!

1L. of mineral water

2tbls of linseeds

Bring to the boil and then simmer for 10/15 min.

leave overnight

You should have a thick fluid like the egg yolk.

Throw the seeds away and drink it as a tea. BE CAREFUL!!!

Start by pouring half a cup into your daily bottle of water and increase the dosage as you feel comfortable.

This is the strongest message you can give to the body to switch the dehydration alert off. the cleansing effects are powerful.

ENJOY
